Hoxworth Blood Center, an internationally-recognized leader in transfusion medicine, was founded in 1938 and is currently the oldest operating blood bank in the country. Hoxworth serves more than 30 area hospitals and medical centers and collects more than 100,000 units of blood products to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals.

This holiday season donate blood or platelets at any Neighborhood Donor Center or select mobile drive from December 17-31 and receive a Holiday Hero eGift Card. A thank you for saving lives close to home this holiday season.

December 30 – Jingle Bell Blood Drive at Montgomery Inn: The Boathouse (925 Riverside Dr.) - Celebrate the season with a lifesaving donation and receive FREE Elm Street Plaza Ice Rink admission, a Hoxworth Hero backpack, and a holiday T-shirt.

December 30 & 31 – New Year’s Eve Skyline Chili Give back event (4th Street, 254 E. 4th St.) - Ring in the New Year by giving back—every donor receives a Hoxworth Hero backpack, a coupon for a free cheese coney with beverage purchase, and a fun digital donor badge added to your donor portal to commemorate your final lifesaving act of 2025. Hoxworth’s patient services division improves the health of individuals through services such as Therapeutic Apheresis, Red Blood Cell Exchange and Photopheresis
