Recruitment ProgramOn Friday,
February 8 Hoxworth Blood Center hosted a dinner at Crossroads Community
Church to discuss the importance of increasing the number of African
American blood donors.
Guest speaker Dr. Karen Kalinyak, of Cincinnati Children's Hospital,
informed attendees about the importance of blood transfusions as a part
of treatment and prevention of complications resulting from Sickle Cell
Anemia.
