Cincinnati Financial Corporation Awarded
“Most Productive Blood Drive” by ABC

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati is very proud to announce that Cincinnati Financial Corporation was awarded the “Most Productive Blood Drive” Award at the 47th Annual ABC (America’s Blood Centers) Meeting and Awards Ceremony held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Arlington, Virginia on Monday, March 16, 2009

The 4-day event, held biennially in the Washington D.C. area, provides members the opportunity to network, share best practices and keep up with the advancements in transfusion medicine.  Highlighting this years’ event was the 12th Annual Awards of Excellence Banquet in which Cincinnati Financial Corporation was awarded the “Most Productive Blood Drive” Award in the category of medium sized companies.

Accepting the award for Cincinnati Financial was Francina McNeil, LPN, Occupational Health; Linda Poulemanos, R.N, Occupational Health and Brian Wood, V.P. of Personnel.  Dr. Susan Wilkinson, Associate Director of Hoxworth Blood Center, was on hand to personally thank and congratulate the Cincinnati Financial team at the banquet.

The key factors of success that brought Cincinnati Financial Corporation to this level of achievement are as follows:

• Hosting a 2-day, bi-annual blood drive which routinely collect over 155 units of blood products per day.
• Hosting an emergency drive when our type O blood supply was at a critical level.  This drive resulted in the collection of 129 units of blood products.
• The Management Team promotes the blood drives by recognizing those employees who have reached gallon milestones.  All employee donors are encouraged to participate in a “casual jeans day” as well as providing a continental breakfast on the days of the blood drive.
