Blood Donors
Needed During the Holidays
The holidays bring increased travel accidents and other
emergency room visits, and therefore a greater demand for blood.
Your donation is greatly needed for the patients in our
community and to make sure our hospitals have an adequate supply
of blood going into the upcoming holiday weekend.

Appointments are encouraged, but walk-in
donors will be taken on a
first-come, first-served basis.Hoxworth has scheduled many blood drives making it easy and convenient to give "the gift of life."

Donating blood is safe and easy. You must be at least 17 years old and in good health. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating. About Hoxworth: Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati Medical Center needs to collect blood from 350 blood donors and 40 platelet donors each day to keep up with the needs of tri-state patients. Hoxworth, founded in 1938, serves 28 hospitals in 17 counties in Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects over 90,000 units of blood from local donors. comments@hoxworth.org
