Give the
"Gift of Life"
this
holiday season!
The holidays present multiple challenges for the community blood supply due to increased travel and less donors available for blood donation. The result is a greater demand for blood. Your donation is greatly needed for the patients in our community and to ensure that our hospitals have adequate blood supplies during the upcoming holiday weekend. Each year Hoxworth designates a special day as "Gift of Life" day and this year is encouraging donors to bring a friend or loved one to share the Gift of Life. All donors will receive a limited edition Winter Blood Donor T-shirt and be entered to win a 42" Plasma HDTV from Entertainment Solutions. Lunch will be served for donors on this day. Join us at one of the following neighborhood donor centers open for Gift of Life Day on Saturday, December 22, 2007: Hoxworth Anderson - 8:30 am to 4 pm Hoxworth Blue Ash - 8:30 am to 4 pm Hoxworth Ft. Mitchell - 8:30 am to 4 pm Hoxworth Ft. Thomas - 8:30 am to 4 pm Hoxworth Mason - 8:30 am to 4 pm Hoxworth Tri-County - 8:30 am to 4 pm Hoxworth Western Hills - 8:30 am to 4 pm

Appointments are encouraged, but walk-in
donors will be taken on a
first-come, first-served basis.Donating blood is safe and easy. You must be at least 17 years old and in good health. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating. About Hoxworth: Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati Medical Center needs to collect blood from 350 blood donors and 40 platelet donors each day to keep up with the needs of tri-state patients. Hoxworth, founded in 1938, serves 29 hospitals in 17 counties in Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects over 90,000 units of blood from local donors. comments@hoxworth.org
