Hoxworth Fort Thomas

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati is making changes in its donor recruitment operations in Campbell County, Kentucky, to increase visibility, donor convenience and blood donations.

Hoxworth closed the blood donor center at 90 Alexandria Pike, Ft. Thomas/Southgate on Feb. 24.  This location simply did not provide the results needed and a change was necessary, said Hoxworth spokesperson Alecia Lipton.  Instead, Hoxworth will have a community blood drive each Wednesday at two alternating Kroger stores along the I-471/Rt. 27 corridor.

“The goal is to make blood donation convenient and visible to Campbell County-area residents,” Lipton said.

Beginning March 3, the Hoxworth Blood Mobile will be at Kroger Crossroads (Cold Spring) every first and third Wednesday from noon until 7:30 p.m. The blood mobile will be at Kroger Market Place (Newport) every second and fourth Wednesday from noon until 7:30 p.m. starting March 10.
