All donors entered to win a $100.00 Gift Certificate to Boi Na Braza Steak House

Hoxworth Blood Center invites you to stop by Fountain Square on Wednesday, September 3rd and relax as WARM 98 Radio broadcasts live from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Hoxworth staff will be on hand to direct you to the Downtown Neighborhood Donor Center on the 2nd floor of the Tri-State Building, located at 432 Walnut Street where you can make a life saving blood donation. The Downtown Neighborhood Donor Center will be open from 9:15 a.m. until 4:45 p.m.

All blood donors will be automatically registered to win a $100.00 Gift Certificate to Boi Na Braza Steak House in downtown Cincinnati. Two lucky donors will be selected at random.

Appointments to donate blood are recommended. Please call (513) 451-0910 to schedule your appointment or visit www.hoxworth.org. Walk-ins are always welcome.

The requirements to give blood are:

• Age: At least 17 years old and in good general health. There is no upper age limit.
Weight: Minimum of 110 pounds.
Identification: Must provide photo I.D.
Food: Eat a good meal within four hours before giving.
Drink: Drink plenty of water or juice before and after donating.

Hoxworth is now offering free cholesterol screening tests to all blood donors. The non-fasting total serum cholesterol level test will be part of all successful blood donations, and is intended to be a screening only. Hoxworth is offering the free tests at all blood collection sites, including the nine Greater Cincinnati neighborhood donor centers and all bloodmobile operations. Donors can obtain the results of the screening three days after the blood donation, by phone only. Hoxworth will provide each donor at the time of donation a unique ID number and phone number to call.
